DIGITAL ACCESS

Access to multiple e-resources such as Taylor & Francis, ProQuest and Knimbus, NPTEL videos and other educational materials – the library has all the modern facilities to help students with their research and academics.

A digital library is a managed collection of information, with associated services, where the information is stored in digital formats and accessible over a network. Central Library is a part of the institute-wide network. The library has 10 computers and other accessories adequate to cater to the needs of users & are meant for users to access OPAC, databases, e-books, e-journals and other e-resources. The Central library has been Wi-Fi enabled to provide wireless access to the Internet. Users are welcome to use their laptops in the library.

DELNET, a network of 1000 institutions with access to more than 60 lakh records through online systems  is considered as a big leap towards the modernisation of libraries in India. DELNET has been actively engaged in the compilation of various union catalogues of the resources available with member libraries and has already created the union catalogue of books, current periodicals, and a CD ROM database. It provides a range of services including e-mail access to its member libraries including institutional and associate institutional members.

The NIEIT Library has a membership with DELNET (New Delhi) to facilitate the efficient search of information through various online databases and union catalogues. DELNET delivers individual books as and when required by member libraries as well as photocopies of articles published within and outside India through the Inter-library Loan/Document Delivery Services.
