INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE CELL (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was set up at NIEIT in 2015-2016. The mandate given to IQAC is to improve the standards in all academic programmes and put in place processes to enhance the level of quality at the Institute. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC becomes a part of an institutional system and works towards realizing the objectives of quality enhancement and sustenance.

The policy documents of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) are the basis for formulating the role and responsibility of IQAC. IQAC at NIEIT constantly work as a complete system to bring quality changes in participation, the decision-making process at various levels in the Institution

Objectives

  • The basic objective of IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution. It provides an opportunity for all stakeholders like staff, and students to express their views about the grievances related to academic, nonacademic & other issues of the institute. This enables to improve quality standards at the institute by undertaking remedial measures.
  • It promotes measures for institutional functioning towards quality enhancement through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.

Composition

    The composition of the IQAC is as follows:

  1. Chairperson: Head of the Institution.
  2. Three to eight teachers.
  3. One member from the Management.
  4. One/two nominees from local society, Students and Alumni as and when required.
  5. One/two nominees from Employers /Industrialists/stakeholders as and when required.

  Functions:

As per the guidelines specified by statutory bodies, IQAC at NIEIT is focused on

  1. To develop and apply quality benchmarks/parameters for various academic activities of the college
  2. To facilitate the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process
  3. To arrange for feedback responses from students, parents and other stakeholders on quality-related institutional process
  4. To disseminate information about various quality parameters of higher education
  5. To prepare documents of various programmes/activities of the college, leading to quality improvement
  6. To act as a nodal agency of the college for coordinating quality-related activities including the adoption and dissemination of good practice
  7. To develop and maintain an institutional database through MIS for the purpose of maintaining/enhancing the institutional quality
  8. To develop the Annual Quality Assurance Report(AQAR) of the college based on quality parameters/assessment criteria developed by the relevant quality assurance body (like NAAC, NBA)
  1. The IQAC must create an exclusive window on its institutional website, to regularly report on its    activities
