The NEP 2020 has given a clarion call for holistic value-based education to prepare our youth and develop our Nation, “Education is fundamental for achieving full human potential, developing an equitable and just society, and promoting national development”.
AICTE have been working on value-based education for value-based living for the past several years. In the last 3 years, we have come across a simple, extremely effective and promising content and methodology. It is called “Universal Human Value (UHV)”. The content is universal, rational, verifiable and leading to harmony – and we have seen almost immediate and positive indicators of self-development as well as institutional progress. The steps taken by the All India Council for Technical Education in the direction of imbibing universal human values education among teachers and students have proved to be transformational.
Each AICTE approved college is expected to prepare a minimum number of faculties to mentor students and to teach UHV. Happiness is a natural distillate of following universal human values and hence the Happiness Matrix Scheme is a way of evaluating the same.
It is AICTE’s intention to support, promote and ensure happiness across all campuses.
