The department of Library and Information Centre in association with NIEIT, IEEE Student Branch, Mysuru organized a User Awareness session on IEEEXplore –New features in two sessions, morning session for final year and pre-final year students and a hands-on session for faculty in the afternoon on 14.6.2022.
The aim of the session was to enrich the knowledge about the IEEEXplore -New features such as Most popular content in IEEExplore, the Redesigned Author Centre- For aspiring authors, Certificate courses offers, Videos available and so on.
The Event started with an invocation by Sripriya, 6th sem, ISE student, and lighting the lamp by dignitaries. Welcome address was given by Smt. Ushamani. U, Librarian & Head, Library and Information Centre and Harshitha of 4th Sem ECE, introduced Resource person.
Dr. Archana.N.V., Principal and President of the session gave the presidential remarks.
Resource person, Mr. M.S. Srinivasa, Training Manager, South India, EBSCO Infn. Services India. Pvt.Ltd addressed the gathering on the importance of IEEEXplore new features, and presented a presentation about “how to use the IEEEXplore –digital library and its new features, how to access more than 3.5 million full text documents from some of the World’s most highly cited publications and also explained the importance of IEEE access in an Institution. More than 100 participants were present in the session.
The Morning session was concluded with a quiz for the students and top three students awarded attractive prizes by IEEE and followed by a photo session and hand-on session for faculty.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Sri.Ramachandra N.R., Assistant Librarian and session was compered by Ms. Sagarika of 4th Sem, ECE.
